    New engine build.

I have started to build a new blower engine for the Demon. It is a 5.7 Hemi that I am going to stroke and set my 6-71 on top. The thread for it is going to be in the "New Hemi Engine Swaps" forum because I will have to draw on a lot of the knowledge in that forum. Here is the link. And Now it...

    And Now it Starts

I have officially started my 5.7L blown stroker build. All future posts as to my progress will be posted here. I have the 2010 5.7 truck engine mounted on the engine stand and disassembly will start as soon as the bitter cold leaves. I still have to build a couple of shelves in the garage to...

    Exhaust manifold question

Mainly because you can pick up a set of Hellcat manifolds for $200. Headers are much more than that. Jack

    Exhaust manifold question

I'm just spit balling here. What if used the 6.2/6.4 manifolds and cut the flanges off and re-welded them at an angle that brought them in closer to the block. I know that would change the angle of the out let but I think that can be adjusted as well. Just a thought. Jack

    Exhaust manifold question

That is the kind of information that is very valuable. You don't happen to still have those 6.1 manifolds you were trying? Jack

    Exhaust manifold question

After reading that thread it just might work with my setup. I can pick up a set of 6.2 or 6.4 manifolds, (same piece), for $200. Worth the try I think. Jack

    Exhaust manifold question

Wow, over 60 views and nobody wants to chime in. Has nobody tried this before? I can't be the first. Jack

    Cat Pics

Say hello to Rocky and Trixie. They are brother and sister 9 month old Maine Coons. Rocky has had a rough go of it. He got FIP that used to be 100% fatal. There is now an antiviral that is based on Remdesivir that seems to be working very well. FIP is the feline version of Covid. One more week...

    Exhaust manifold question

I am starting to look and see what I am going to need for exhaust and just about everything else. Keeping in mind that I will not have to deal with torsion bars, can I use a set of Hellcat manifolds instead of going for aftermarket headers? I figure that because they are stock on Hellcats they...

    It's time for a change

My little project took a step closer today. I found a core 5.7 out of a 2010 truck. The engine still runs and has no odd noises. The oil looks good although dirty. I got it for a song as well as it does have a coolant leak up top on the outside of the engine. I couldn't see where it was coming...

    It's time for a change

From what I have been reading it is the roller that goes on the lifter and that takes out the cam lobe causing the tick. Seeing as I would be replacing the cam and lifters anyway I don't see that as a problem. Looks like this may be coming together. Jack

    It's time for a change

I have been looking around and 5.7's with lifter ticks are very cheap. Seeing as I would be replacing all the internals is there any reason that I couldn't use one of these with the lifter tick? Jack

    It's time for a change

It's a shame they don't say how much it made N/A and how much boost they ran. Both very important numbers when trying to find out how much the blower is helping. Jack

    It's time for a change

I should add that I have no idea how much HP this setup will make but it should be plenty if I run 12 lbs of boost which should be doable on pump gas. Jack
