I don’t have any experience with the E Z kit so I can’t say if that solves the issue. Definitely let us know what you find out. I would think a newer wiring kit would have taken the down falls of the previous electrical system and correct them.

Even redoing the wiring you still need the relays to take the load off the headlight switch and get the true voltage from the battery. Next time you run your headlights let me know how hot that switch gets.
