sweet truck! i miss my old 1st gen. best truck I ever owned. Switched to a 98.5 4x4 and no it doesn't hold a candle to how the dually went down the road.
On the cam I was not at all happy with the purple shaft .509 on either the 340 six pack in my cuda or the 440 six pack on my dads GTX. We switched to the Performer RPM cam in both and are very pleased. I have the Summit cam -.466/488- in my 383 Duster and in my friends 440 in his '70 Charger...
Thanks for the info... Looks like that info is right on as far as the intake is concerned. I weighed mine in at 41.5lbs for the iron and 14.8 lbs on the Eddy Performer intake. The rest of mine is just the stock iron setup.
Went with a different drivers manifold and all is well. Now to finish buttoning everything up. I used #3830800 and it worked very well. I see this manifold was used for everything from Newports to RV's.
Ok I just did the exhaust thing on my '75 Duster and i can say that the C-body drivers do not work (at least on later A's) without mods, as it drops right on the slip joint for the steering box (mine has PS). I used a manifold #3830800 and it worked perfect and way cheaper and easier to find...
It's actually hitting when I turn the wheel and the "flats" hit against the manifold. Thinking I'll have to switch to a u-joint or find a different set of manifolds :/
Does anyone know the spline count and shaft size for a PS box on a 75 Duster 360? Probably going to have to go for a u-joint setup so I can get clearance for the 383 manifolds.
I believe you are right on the C-body drivers manifold. And yes it does have P.S. Not sure if there is a way to modify the coupler or if I just have to find a set of early B-body manifolds.
Thought about the K-member thing but I just don't have the room in this garage. I did this on a 94 Camaro that I did a LS1 swap in and it worked ok but I had a nice big well lit shop to do it in.
Just running stock manifolds they decode as 70-71 B/C body 383/440
I have a question before I get too far along on dropping the motor back in. I plan on installing the motor and trans as one unit but was wondering if I should put the exhaust manifolds on before I drop it in also. My car has PS but manual brakes. Just wanting to save myself a headache if I can.
I have a 75 duster 360 with spool mounts and I was wondering if I can use factory C or B-body 400 spool mounts for my conversion or if I have to use the Schumacher kit? Has anyone had any experience with either?
I have been looking at quite a few different setups. I had a couple friends running pro-jection on their jeeps with mixed results. Looks like the fast-efi may be a good way to go but it aint cheap. I have a buddy thats a computer geek and said he can program a gm computer and TBI off of a 454...
