You are correct that an H code engine designation in 1969 was only available in a GTS and not in any other Dart model.

Interesting information, thanks for posting. What I found is the H in the fifth digit in the VIN for the 1969 model year is for a 383 HP car. P is for a 340 car. Thanks.

I 'think' that the H code in 1969 is for a 383 HP engine, and the "S" in "LS" would be for a GTS.
