Made a little more progress today on the 440/512 rebuild

The Red that you see in this photo is actually the new wiring harness for the coolant and cam position sensors that will run through the firewall at the top center rear of the engine when it goes back in the car. BUT, there is a towel covering the lifter valley also. Be Assured. It Will Be...

Made a little more progress today on the 440/512 rebuild

Made a little more progress today. Engine moved from engine stand to 30 year old "Home-Brewed" start up stand. Still have to put radiator back on to the start up stand. Now on to final assembly and startup.

Hiding Front Engine Sensor Wire Harness

It will be fine. If the center link and idler arm get that high up, I will have far bigger worries than the harness. If you look at the first photo of the bottom of the oil pan, the idler are sets over a 1/2" lower than the notch in the pan.

And Still Another "Home-Brewed" part.... Cam Position Sensor Distributor Hold Down Clamp

Here is another project I have been working on today 10/11/2025. Making a "Home-Brewed" Cam Position Sensor/Distributor hold down clamp. This started out as a piece of 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" Aluminum angle. I had an idea of what I wanted. No plans. Just started drawing lines and cutting. This...

Hiding Front Engine Sensor Wire Harness

I started this project yesterday 10/10/2025. I made 2 flat brackets and 2 studs to mount onto the passenger side of the oil pan. These 2 brackets will serve as supports and a place to secure the wiring harness I just made. The harness has connections to the factory temperature sensor, EFI...

And Yet Another "Home-Brewed" item. 3 Wire Shielded cable.

I love sharing what I do. More for the reason you just stated "that my input would help someone". I am not in any way tiring to show off or brag, etc. Just tiring to help and pass on ideas and different ways of getting something done. That is the Whole idea behind this and many other forums...

And Yet Another "Home-Brewed" item. 3 Wire Shielded cable.

Del, Thanks for your input and reminder as to which end to connect to ground. I worked as a Business / Data technician at GTE/Verizon for almost 40 years, so I know a little about noise on circuits. As far as the HAM Radio, I got my 1st Novice ticket in 1976. WN9RLY... I have hearing problems...
