Competent 451 engine builder in Portland Or

In the process of building a 451. Started on it many years ago. I had a 230 cast 400 block machined at Eastco in Gresham many years ago with my 440 source rotating assembly. That shop closed. Many years later I decided to have that block as well as another sonic checked. Yep. Backwards I...

SB K FRAME TO BB ENGINE

I was going to do a DC copy using the 73 K except moving the whole perch not just the top. Went to check fitment under car and the 73 K did not bolt up. K was damaged. 4th bolt no go. So I put the complete perches on the older K. When doing this you loose reference versus cutting the top half...

    440 source making new 440 blocks…

I hope everything goes as planned for 440 source and customers with the new block. Looking for old blocks is getting harder and chances of finding one that has nice sonic check numbers are getting less due to numbers. Typically easier to improve a product than start from scratch. Should be a...

SB K FRAME TO BB ENGINE

The 73 up k frame would likely be better for you. 67 had the odd idler arm.

SB K FRAME TO BB ENGINE

I put spool mounts on a biscuit k frame. I have NOS engine mounts. If ya started from scratch you may have more options. While OEM biscuit and spool mounts work fine they are bulky.

    Big Block K Frame

I started to make a big block spool mount 73 up k frame. While checking things it did not bolt under my car. The k member was bent from wreck? I ended up cutting the spool mounts off and putting them on my original to car 68 k frame.

    Added More Photos - "Home-Brewed" 67 Dart 440/512 B Body Engine Mounts

Hmm. I did a DC conversion on a spool mount K frame like many others. Problem was the K frame did not bolt up to car due to being wrecked. Ended up putting the spool mounts on my 68 k frame. Looks like the B body mounts take up less space than the spool mounts? Mainly on the driver's side...

    440 Source solid lifters

My guess is they would work great with a stealth or Eddy head build. If you want more than that you may be disappointed. Looks to be competing against something like comp cams 829 lifter. Are they Chinese? Nice to have options.

    BB oil pan discussion

Darn it. I bought the pan back in December. It's been a long couple of weeks.LOL I have almost done nothing on the car since.I will post my results with pics when I get it mocked up. I bought a borgeson box to test fit also. I will try to get to it soon.

Finally get to pretend I am one of the cool kids - Holley kit swap

I think those thick washers are factory. I don't remember the cost but I took my 68 dart to a body shop to have the unibody checked for square. It was not much. I wanted to be sure all was good before torque boxes and sub frame connectors were welded in. I have a 68 GTX project that has the...

Finally get to pretend I am one of the cool kids - Holley kit swap

Open the hood and eye ball across the core support and the cowl. See if they appear to be level or one side is higher. Also look at the other side and see if the fender gap is the same. To have a buckle there you should be able to see other differences. Is the bump stop bent? Could likely be...

Need photos of INSTALLED 440Source A/C body 547 oil pan

I just bought that pan. Quality seems good. Sits flat on the engine. The extra thick is solid without being excessive, it's nice. It appears to be identical to a187 pan just slightly deeper. The drain plug is a little high on the pan possibly leaving a slight amount of oil in the bottom...

    BB oil pan discussion

I ordered the 547 oil pan, 1/2 oil pickup tube from 440 source as well as their stock stroke windage tray. The issue of the pan hanging a little lower should be minimal because it's EXTRA THICK. Lol In the next couple weeks I should be able to check clearances. The 187 pan I have had lots of...

    Edlebrock RPM head clean up

I am going to take the advice and go 9315s. Keep the retainers and order the 611 locks. The Edelbrock are a dual spring retainer but 7 degree. The springs will be returned. They were previously opened anyway. Shipping is a bit slow now due to Christmas. My machine work was done 15 + years ago...

    Edlebrock RPM head clean up

Thanks PRH for the confirmation on the retainers and locks. I am hoping for the same results on my retainer lock combo. I ordered a valve height micrometer from Summit last night and will go back to work on this after Christmas. I am wondering if Comp cams is discontinuing the 954 spring also...
