I did it on a 70 Duster back when I was 16 years old. The car sat way to high in the back (there was like 4" between the top of the tire & the bottom of the wheel well) & the steering/handling sucked.
I think you should wait to do it right or if you really need to do something, then buy a set...
The only thing I'm missing on my 68 Charger is the turn signal lenses in the hood. Painted it 20 years ago...why did I wait?

All A-Body manual steering boxes are interchangeable and are small sector. The change in 73 on manual steering cars was the pitman arm, center link & idler.
So... if your 73 has manual steering now, you need to put your pitman on the 72 box.
If your 73 has power steering it has a large sector...

All of the A-body manual boxes are "small" sector & interchange.
If you use a B-body/Truck/Van manual steering box that has a "large" sector...then you will need a 73 & up power steering pitman arm for an A-body. But don't use a "B" body manual box if you have headers.
