Hi y’all. I’ve been using the Valvoline VR1 racing oil with the zinc in it. It’s 10w-30. I’m in Central Texas so gets warm here in the summer. It seems to be working good so far but I wonder if it would run better if I ran a different viscosity. It’s an 8 cylinder small block 273. Thoughts?

Thanks for all the tips! I removed the pan - it was warped and I was not able to get it as straight as I wanted. The seal was the cork version. I got a beautiful new pan from Summit Racing - it is a perfect fit. It is however a bit heavier. I used a rubber seal instead. New filter. And yes, I...

Got it. The POR-15 does have good feedback as far as being very resistant to water as well as high heat. I might give it a try
