I just picked up a w9 top end and I am now looking for the T&D or Jesel rockers to suit. I'm looking for complete assemblies but might be interested in just the arms or mounting bars if someone has changed ratios on their setup. let me know what you have
thanks.
swapping the arms side to side wiuld have never worked but was a good option to keep the car mobile for mock up purposes. I never put it up on my alignment rack that way but I'm sure the toe in on turns was horrible and it would have scrubbed the tires off in no time.
the Ackerman and bump steer issues can be fixed with a propper steering arm design. the very first version I made for my car I swapped the stock arms side to side to make it front steer. the bums steer was fine with this setup but the Ackerman was out to lunch and it had the turning radius of a...
a front steer rack setup is why I built the first one. I always hated how we are limited to midsump pans. To have a good capacity they have to hang down so low they drag over every speed bump. That is the last thing I want to be dragging over things. the major problem with the front steer that I...
the QA1 unit is a good peice but is basically a tubular stock replacement. my main issue with other aftetmarket k members on the market is that they all use mustang 2 spindles. there is nothing wrong with that but what about those of us that have already spent money on upper control arms and...

my name is Tim
I am looking for some input from FABO members about my tubular k member design
I have made a couple of prototypes already and tested them in my cars. first k member used the stock lower control arms and torsion bars but went to a front steer rack and pinion for oil pan...
A little bit of an update finished up the AMD rocker install then the right side quarter skin. Moving on to the trunk panel/rear bumper support and trunk floor modification for the fuel cell.
I found once i had the door on the car and lined up that a few adjustmentst had to be made to the door support and the rear door jamb. I found that the rocker must have sprung back a little bit from the factory and to make the propper door gap the entire top side of the rocker should be lined...
I epoxy primed the inside of the new rocker and used por15 on the car side. I cleaned all areas that are going to be welded and sprayed with zinc weld through coating.
I will definitely only be doing one side at a time. Rockers and quarters together. I just started a reastoration thread with some of the pics iv taken over the last few years. Hopefully the car will start taking shape pretty soon.
Build thread...
