I ordered and received 3 out of 4 wheel opening moldings from "The Paddock", but had the passenger side rear one back ordered. Sounds like I won't be getting anything from there. Anybody happen to have one available for driver quality restoration for a 74 Dart Sport?
Just finishing up my restoration but can't seem to get a few parts. Missing parts from a Paddock backorder since January. Is this normal? Short a right rear wheel molding and a new ABS headliner. Re-chromed bumpers should be here this week and we're ready for summer. Season is always too short...
Almost completed restoration after a long winter. Waiting for bumpers to get done from the chrome shop in the next week and attaching a few emblems. I am missing the 360 emblem for one side of the fender. Anyone have one they may not have any use for? Let me know. Project has been very rewarding...
I pulled engine and transmission for a complete restoration and just completed re-assembly. After putting all fluids back into engine and transmission, realized transmission fluid dripping on the floor. Fluid seems to be coming from a small threaded hole that the manual says is a governor...
Anyone heard from challenger-Gary lately. Sent him a few post some time ago and had him working on a stripe kit, but have not heard back. He did mention a few health issues he was going thru that last I heard.
Problem finally solved. Body plug thru the firewall right next to the speedometer cable that I had pushed thru to get the engine bay painted. Tracked it down after 3 days of searching and tracing back to fan switch. Thanks for all the suggestions.
The wires are external and there are only 2 wires. One is grounded to the wiper motor and a short 6" green pigtale on the motor with a single connector plug. Can't find anything close in the harness and have tested all the wires in the plugs. I was wondering if I may have tucked it away...
I'm putting my wiring harness back into my 74 Dart Sport after new paint and can't find the wire that hooks up to the heater motor. You always think you'll remember where everything goes. Does it come off one of the main firewall connector blocks? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the info. I guess it being a Dart Sport would mean that Bright Red it is. This must be the greatest forum ever with the most helpful members. Making my first restoration a lot more fun.
Talked to my paint guy today and its looking like we'll be painting on the matte black hood finish. More confusion on my red color. Going back to original FE5 red, but doing some research, I got confused. Some places its called Rallye Red and others Bright Red. Is this actually the same color?
Thanks for the help on this decal issue. I'll be talking to my body and paint guy next week and see what he has to say regarding paint vs decal. I had never thought about having to paint the cowl anyway.
I'm just getting ready to repaint my 1974 Dart Sport that has the dual snorkel hood scoops. I've seen cars with about half the hood under the scoops that had originally the black decal underneath. Any idea if these are still available from some supplier? I've heard some people paint them on, but...
Picked the car up in central Texas. It was originally purchased there and I after many miles of travel in Canada and northern US, I realized there seemed to be no "rust free" cars around here. Purchased the car ' sight unseen' and was pleasantly surprized.
