red wire goes from batt to 2 terminal disconnect then to starter then to starter relay. black goes down to the frame. i have a braided line from block to frame.

when i bought my 74 scamp the previous owner had moved the battery to the trunk. black wire to frame rail and red goes up to the starter first then to starter relay? i dont know but that dont sound right? and battery wont stay charged? is this wired correctly?

Does the kick down cable have anything to do with how the car shifts? Reason I ask another guy at the race track said my car would shift harder if it was hooked up. It's a 727 with a shift kit.
