Machinist will not build engine unless roller cam is used!

My friend Mark is having the 327 for his 67 Camaro completely rebuilt by a local reputable performance-oriented machine shop. We took the engine there on Tuesday. The shop is beautiful. I was very impressed. When the shop owner was going over the options with Mark, he added that if he did do a...

Paint it, Clear it or Let It Rip?

It is. I always thought it would be easier if the relief was in the manifold. I always put a few small dabs of gasket sealer in the relief of the housing and then put the thermostat in the housing and give the sealant a few minutes to set up. Then install the gasket and place the housing on the...

    I hate BMW’s

Depends on what kind of Jeep you are talking about. A 40s or 50s military jeep might be expensive to restore and maintain, but I am on my 5th Jeep now. I have owned a 1995 Grand Cherokee, a 2004 Grand Cherokee, a 2007 Grand Cherokee, a 2018 Grand Cherokee and my current 2023 Gladiator. In all...

    I hate BMW’s

BMW = Bring Mechanic With you. Nothing against my FABO buddies who own and like BMWs, but I have known a LOT of people who have had a lot of trouble with theirs, and it is expensive!

Need a good honest shop for my Dart

I assume you do not have an agreed value insurance policy. It is the responsibility of HER insurance company to put your car back to the way it was. All insurance companies are required to file with the State Insurance Commission. The insurance commission has rules on what the insurance...

67/68 barracuda rear window pull, reseal, replace question please

@Super-Cuda, @Kendog 170 and @mvh are right. You should remove the interior trim. I have replaced 67-69 Barracuda Fastback rear glass before, and it is not difficult. Although you may be able to remove and replace the rear glass without pulling the interior trim, removing the trim is not at all...

    Steering wheel puller

Like @69FBCuda said, go to a car parts store like O'Reilly's or Advance Auto and ask to borrow one. They will ask for a deposit, but you get it back when you return the tool. If you want to own one, you can get them for under $20 at Amazon or Harbour Freight. I have a cheap HF one that has been...

    Headers vs. Manifolds

Wow; you have gotten a lot of GOOD advice here. The good advice is given by a lot of people who are telling you how they would probably do it. Ten different people will think ten different ways. Here is my input. @Demonracer says you won't miss the horsepower on the street. I agree with that to...

Removing glued on carpet, any tips?

The Heat gun may very well work. I guess you would not care if the carpet got damaged. You could also try steam. You might be able to rent a steam cleaning machine.
