Spot on! Pulled the wire from the bulkhead. Cleaned it up and bam. Thank you

It's a stock 318 in a 68 fastback Barracuda. All stock ignition. No ECU. Chaising the run circuit now.

Even tried bypassing the ballast resistor. No luck

So the shaft was compressed. I can slide the two pieces a few inches. I probably did myself on my previous install. What can I do? Is the shaft fixable? Can I use something for where the plastic was in the two holes?

Yes there was no spacing between the couple and the gear box not sure ithe knuckle moved or what. I removed the roll pin and knuckle when disassembling everything thing

It's a 68 fastback Barracuda with power steering. Automatic with the shifter down on the console.

So I think these somehow didn't attach right and the whole thing pulled from the knuckle

So would those two holes suggest that mine is a manual shaft?

Is the collapsed shaft fixable? Or does it need to be replaced?

Those assembly errors are probably mine. Messed with the column a few months ago

So I was pulling out of a driveway and all of the sudden my steering wheel pulled back towards me and I had no steering. Popped open the hood and the shaft had pulled away from the knuckle. The two metal blocks and the clip had fallen off as well. For the life of me, I couldn't get the shaft to...

So I took the new grommet off the tank and tried sliding it on the filler tube, barely made it on. Tried the old and it slid right on. It's cracked a bit but I gave it a try on the new tank and it went right in first try. Guess I will have to see if it leaks.
