Here’s a snapshot of the rear, dual exhaust. This is from back in 2020 when my dad was attempting to start the engine without luck, at least one tail light was working
Yeah, but cars that are from countries that utilize miles typically show either mph or both. Gotta ask my mom whether she knows how it is on this one since it doesn’t say. The photo I attached of the instruments and wheel became too pixelated to see clearly but it says “Oil” “Gasoline”...
Yep, we bought a new fuel pump as we initially suspected the old defect one was the cause of the issues. Also it looks like all of the instruments are in English so I'd think it's 180mph and miles on the odometer
Thanks, I'll check on that as soon as I get home from work! Can't recall at the moment whether it is dual or not, though it looks like one exhaust pipe is visible on the right side of the car in one of the photos I posted in the original post, and I'm guessing it would have one on the left side...
Thanks, Dana! No worries, I might not have all the correct details but that’s why I’m trying to figure this whole thing out after all :) Also it’s been two years since I checked the vin number and it might be wrong but the information I’m giving here is what I remember of it haha.
In terms of the fender tag, it’s been very challenging trying to decipher what’s on it due to dirt and paint that had to be scraped off. I can make out a few digits but nothing comprehensive. Is there anything I can apply to it to clean it up?
You’d be surprised. Haven’t seen it in person but my parents kept videos of their cars on my mother’s old camera, from what I’ve seen of them the Dart lived up to its name; dainty and quick. She used to race it against their friends as well, it could keep up with the ‘big boys.’ His GTO measured...
That’s what my dad thinks it is, he’s a mechanic so I’m guessing he knows something about these engines but I figured a second opinion or more is needed to make sure we know what it is. With how the car is stored and how little resources I have available there’s no chance I’ll be able to do much...
We incessantly tried starting it in 2020 without luck. Turns out the carb had a crack in it so I’m guessing that’s why it failed. The fan turns and it sounds like the engine is a second away from starting. It’s a 4-speed manual, “sinter clutch,” it seems like the car was made with racing in mind.
