    1967 Valiant dash cluster

Something like that, I was thinking 260 . Either way way to much forABS plastic, but it does fit and work well. Not many after market options.

    1967 Valiant dash cluster

For anyone who wants to change out their 67-69 Valiant gauge cluster the unit from Classic Dash for 70-73 Duster fits like a glove. You just got to get imaginative with the emergency flasher switch. The guages are all Speedhut, they worked we me on the Valiant/ two hundred logos in the guages...

    Exhaust valve or cam reversion

Thank guys for all the info. I will do another compression test soon and see if the numbers has changed from the last time. I haven't done one since I put the xe268 in the others was old cam back in winter. The leak down test was this week. I agree with you on the few more degrees in the cam...

    Exhaust valve or cam reversion

Thanks for the reply. My vacuum reading are in park at about 1000 rpm I idle in gear at 750 prob would be around 11/12at that rpm. My base timing is 18 with all in at 34. My distributor has adjust plate and the lower compression like the advanced initial timing. When I done the leak down engine...

    Exhaust valve or cam reversion

The compressions not that low it's not high either . With the head shaved 60 thou the bigger valves in it and a .028 head gasket we were shooting around 9 to 1 maybe a bit more. The numbers were the leak down pressure with 100 psi on the primary gauge to get the cylinder leak down %. The...

    Exhaust valve or cam reversion

Yep, your probably right, my wife says I can be obsessive over anything. Can't help it, you speed three years fixing one up then you worry about every little thing.

    Exhaust valve or cam reversion

Hey guys , got a question. I was checking the old car out the other day and tried the paper to the tailpipe trick to check for a burnt valve and sure enough the paper would suck up to the pipe and out very quickly. Well I just knew I had a burnt valve or two on the exhaust. It thought I would go...

Not enough younger people in this hobby...

I built my little 67 Valiant as a way to connect with my kids. We done almost all of it ourselves and on the cheap. My kids are of that gaming generation as most are today, but if fathers will make the effort sons will follow them to the garage. I know the cost of stuff is high but the cost of...

    Still Too Hot

Check for vacuum leak around the base of carb to intake, especially if the intake is a spread bore and a square bore carb. This makes you lean at idle and run hot. Happen to me feel like a fool but couldn't hear it and motor seem to idle ok but ran hot until I was driving it then would cool...

Stumped and Frustrated with a Holley 670 Hesitation

Hey, had the same problem. Its your accelerator pump squirter, you don't have enough fuel to handle the hand off of from the jets to the power valve. when you go wot the transfer circuit takes time to hand off the duties form just jets to jets and power valve this is the duty of the accelerator...

    Redneck

The term "Redneck" is offensive. I prefer Appalachian American. Lol.

360 stumbles when going from full idle to full throttle.

I've got a 360 LA that had the same issue. Mine is also a low compr. engine that we shaved the heads drastically and put big valves in and played around with porting them. Its got a thumpr cam and a Holley 750 vac sec. Once warm she idled good and as long as I eased into in then stomped it ran...

    header temp

Check comp. on that cylinder may have lost some compression. You may be not always firing on that cylinder if you have a radical cam its not always easy to notice a erratic misfire.

    68 Valiant 100

you will have to take out the front and back glass to do the headliner. Under the gaskets for the windows are small steel spikes that the head liner spears into to hold it in place. Then the front and rear glass gaskets seal around this and makes a clean trim. The rear package tray is also done...
