    MSD distrib. Also, the 3 -4 degree retard I posted about was using an MSD timing light. Using my old Craftsman dial back, I got 5 degrees retard.

    Well , I remember reading here someone said ALL ignition boxes retard timing at higher RPM. Didn't pay much attention to it, but maybe should have. I decided to check mine before I fog the motor down for the winter and don't ya know, 35 Degrees locked, at around 4600 RPM it retards 3 or 4...

    I've always heard those twin discs are instant lock up. Not what you'd want. That's just what I've heard........ I think what you have is gonna be great.

    That's a Comp gear, by the way. Far as Cryo goes, I've had several competition rifle barrels done and the dude I deal with told me once that Cryo is "as effective as the hardness of the material being treated". So my guess is no good for bronze.

    That's exactly the shaft in there now. That long taper just seems much stronger that the immediate taper of the milodon unit. I guess I'll just replace the gear as usual. Thanks for the pic!

    never used any thrust button on any roller engine I've built. NEVER. I've got one out there with 500ish 1/4 mile passes and another with 21,000 hard street miles. Not to mention my personal engine with 6,000 ish and beat like a mule, every time it goes out. Mopar LA thrust button? Gimme a break...
