    Hurst shifter chart

I love this forum, I learn something new every time I visit. My Valiant came to me with an inland shifter - had no idea what it was and tbh was going to bin it as it’s no good ergonomically.

Deciding on replacement intake (318, details in post)

Well I only went and found a 360! Straight from the engineers - dipped, crack tested and inspected. Also came with some 596 heads (1.88/1.60). Now to form a solid plan…

Weld subframe connectors loaded or unloaded?

I’m definitely not, I get caught up over details more than anything. It is more a case of ‘while I’m there’ as it wouldn’t be a chore to do so. I will be checking square and level as best as I can but I am confident it won’t be perfect.

Weld subframe connectors loaded or unloaded?

Going to bookmark this thread as it’s a good point of reference. This is what I’m opting for - nothing more than front and rear suspension, sat on its’ wheels. (Up on cribs) Would completely unloading the torsion beams have any discernible impact…?

    Stripping methods?

Good thread! I was just about to post a question (still will) but thought it worth chiming in. I am mid way through stripping the external paint off my Valiant. I’ve bare-metal’d vehicles before using twist knot discs on a grinder but this time I didn’t want to create the noise, dust or deal...

‘68 Valiant fender question and other bodily discoveries

That’s nice work right there. Thanks for the info, both.

‘68 Valiant fender question and other bodily discoveries

I’m guessing to avoid headlight differences I’m limited to ‘67-‘68?

‘68 Valiant fender question and other bodily discoveries

I’ve just discovered the right hand front fender on my ‘68 Valiant is in very poor shape around the headlight area (someone spent a lot of time with filler shaping it). Anyway I can’t live with that and I don’t want the rat look. Which year fenders are the same as the ‘68? (Ignoring...

Deciding on replacement intake (318, details in post)

It did but I’m fine with that and it’s not just the engine, the whole car is being gone through. That way I’ll not only know it front to back and inside out, I’ll have rectified all the other little nuggets of tomfoolery and neglect that has been inflicted upon it. Do it once, do it right.

Deciding on replacement intake (318, details in post)

I’ve actually be I’ve actually been mulling this over and it’s not such a mad idea. I’d want to build the bottom end (crank, rods, oil pump etc…got forged pistons) anyway regardless of the application and improve upon air flow. Fuelling is easily enough taken care of - I’m not new to working...

Oh don’t. I’ve had plenty of ‘helpful’ local enthusiasts nag about turbocharging the 318. :poke::rolleyes::D

Nothing worse than a cork in the combo! :D Nothing to lose, everything to gain - and a job to add to the list.

    MoPars Left For Dead

:D :D :D 1k and did run when parked in 2014 by all accounts…it certainly didn’t run in the summer, when it was dragged back out of where it was parked and parted out. To much rot for even the banger racers to want to patch it up and hammer around the racetrack

Except it didn’t prove to be quite what was first believed (cam and pistons, heads only appear to have been ported to the gaskets). Neil should know the engine, he put it in the car years back.
