Ok, I have made progress. The transmission shifts properly now, but I still have no passing gear. Take a look at the attached picture (if I uploaded it properly). I am all the way to end of the linkage rod connecting to the transmission. It was originally up against the flared portion of the...
I just put a new 727 transmission in my 71 Dart. The transmission shifts very early and I have no passing gear. I have read that improper adjustment of the kick down linkage can cause his problem. Is that correct and how can I fix it?
Ay advice would be appreciated.
So if they were rodlite would they say it somewhere on the front or back of the rim? I can't find any identification anywhere. Would that support that these are knockoffs?
How can I find out for sure?
I am looking for a lower shift rod to fit a 71 Dart. This is the an automatic transmission with a factory console shifter. This is the shift rod that connects from the bottom of the torque shaft to the transmission.
I am converting from a column to a console and have everything except the lower shift rod that connects the torque shaft to the transmission. Any ideas where I can find this part?
Pull it staight out and up. There are no bolts holding it in just a hook that the rear seat slides into. Once the seat bottom is out, the seat back will lift up and out. If the seat has never been removed, you may have to put a little muscle into it.
I have a 1971 Dodge Dart that I am restoring. The car started fine when I first got it. Now it will only start if I jump the starter relay. I replaced the relay, but that didn't fix the problem. Any idea what's wrong?
