Cheap and don't like shelling out to machine shops.

How much do I need to hack off/ban saw ,my KB 243 340 pistons crown to fit my 360 with the standard 3.58 stroke and rods, I will use a 0.060" shim and fel pro head gasket. I understand they stick out bout .27"? So can the KB 243's handle a crown cut of about 0.10"... I want to keep a tight squish/ quench area @TDC to promote turbulence...think bout 0.030". I know the machinist out there will hate me for the ban saw hack idea..but hell, I don't have know money for them.
