you guys are using the word offset for two different things and really mixing things up badly . The pin bore in the piston ( or less likely the small end?) is offset to avoid piston slap or rocking SIDE to SIDE looking frum front of engine . Done . Maybe very slight power gain / reducing...

hi , i have several really good older Isky cams , however recently built 450” 392 with modern comp cam , full extra hardening etc . I was going to use Howard’s lifters with holes there , bought them , but comp says no cam warrantee without theirs , ? not sure about Howard’s oil hole it was...

no .. it’s alcohol . nuff said Briggs and Stratton make something good , they have a lot of fat in this fire as people make warrantee claims on small engines that won’t start after one winter . Read about big engineering program to get something that works , but running it dry is still the best...

Hi Dave , good post . Do you know amplitude of GM pickup at some rpm and mopar stock pickup at some rpm ? then we know dwell control rate from V/ rpm . No need to reduce dwell until under ~ 3 k rpm to avoid coil overheat is why , and how they can eliminate ballast R So may do nothing till that...

Hi, related to this, from diagrams of holley carbs, there is an air emusifier tube in the jet well that is usualy vented to the venturi throat or up to top. If I look into my 1920 there is the accell pump squirt hole and right next to it a dimple that might have been (?) a tiny air inlet hole...
