You actually think I could keep driving it? Because I'm well on my way to bringing the car to atumn/winter storage and picking up the work again in spring..

My own experience is around 1,5 years of various repairs. Working together with a more experienced crew. We did check the flexplate but didn't take the bolts out. Good idea to explore that next.

We did check the flexplate through the inspection hatch. All the bolts were intact and tight, and there were no visible cracks in the flexplate.

I have a nasty rattle coming from the area between the engine and the transmission. Already swapped the starter because I thought that was doing it. But the rattle is still there. Begins at idle, and slightly gets louder while driving and accellerating. Seems to be coming from the small area...

This one I could easily turn around by hand, and the bimetal spring is very loose. I think I have found the (at least first) cause of the rattling.

Single exhaust. Will check if there are any (close to) contact points

Its a sound both around the engine/trans link and also at the end of the exhaust. Both at idling and while driving. Doesn't seem to be coming from the engine.

Check. But can an inspection be done without removing the trans? I've read about an inspection hatch or something like that. And does the flexplate also move while the car is idling? I don't experience any problems while driving aside from the sound.. Could it be a big problem then.

Is this a potential risk for safe driving? And can I do that without taking the engine or transmission out?

Thanks a lot! I'm going to try and give the adjuster a few (half) turns to see how far I can go. I had already planned to put in new shocks next monday. And new lower ball joints later that week. So the plans are there. I'm looking to use the car mostly for cruising/street. What size torsion...
