Alright, this problem has been plaguing me for weeks now. I have a 1974 Dodge Dart custom. My gas and temperature gauge do not work. I started by taking apart the cluster, checking the gauges for functionality, and fortunately they work. I decided to replace the IVR while I had the dash apart...

Update, the connections have been cleaned on the IVL and it appears to be working correctly. I suppose the fault may be in the senders or at the pin connections, firewall or at grounds at some point.

I tested the gauges again, and it appears as thought the current is being lost through the limiter. I just bought a new one, so this is strange. I will try cleaning the connections.

This worked. Looks like the temp gauge is likely fried, but thankfully the gas gauge is still operational. Appreciate the help.

that’s the next step. I bet there’s something in there, it had been garaged for most of its life and it almost smells like something died in the box, as every time I turn on the fan it smells

yes I can hear them moving. I’m gonna take apart the box and see if I can verify that though.

I did flush the core before re-installing all components and refilling coolant, so I’m pretty positive the core isn’t clogged and my hoses are not crossed at all.

Yea I’m located In Oregon. It’s strange too because it wasn’t happening at all for the first few times I filled it, but then it started happening recently.

I’ve been trying to find where they are typically located on a bodies, with no luck so far. Do you happen to know where they run?
