1975 Dart Sport - Alternator Issue?

I'm sorry - I don't quite understand. When you say jump the + field to the bat terminal on the alter are you saying to run a wire between the positive terminal on the battery and the positive terminal on the alternator?

1975 Dart Sport - Alternator Issue?

It does seem to idle fine otherwise. There are times however that I have hooked up a multimeter and ran the car with the accessories on and the battery starts to drain - to the point where it starts to rough run and then dies. I have a feeling that I've got multiple issues going on here.

1975 Dart Sport - Alternator Issue?

I know this is an old thread - but I just had a chance to work on the Dart. Here's where I am at: I had the battery tested. It failed. I purchased a new battery and put it in the car. I ensured all battery connections are tight. I drove the car - the car died 3 times - all 3 times while slowing...

1975 Dart Sport - Alternator Issue?

Hey all, I got my first running a-body a few weeks ago. The car has a 225 slant six with factory ac. The previous owner installed an electric fuel pump, new starter, gps, and backup camera(I have since disconnected the gps). The car starts easy when it is cold. The car was missing the dome...

    Slant Six Carter Carb I.D.

All, I've never had a carbureted car and I think the carb needs rebuilt. The engine stalled on three separate occasions, each time I was making a tight left turn. The carb smells like it is running a little rich. I'm having trouble identifying this carb. It is on a 1975 Dodge Dart Sport slant...

Advice on buying a '75 dart.

Hey Guys, I just wanted to let you know that I did end up buying the car. The story was legit and the car is great. I drove it back 3.5 hrs on the freeway and had no issues. The slant six isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It needs shocks and a good tune up. I'm super stoked to have my...

This is a good point. I asked him and he said he has a clean title and it is now in his wife's name. The car is not currently registered?

Advice on buying a '75 dart.

Thanks for all the replies. Many of you have been very helpful. The seller doesn't know much about the car. He does know the car was repainted 5 years ago? I do find it odd that there is a prospetor emblem on the front. I wish I could ask the original owner why he did that.

That seems like a steal. I'm not finding anything in the Midwest like that however. Perhaps i'm not looking in the right places. I find that most v8 cars for 6k in the Midwest have copious amounts of rust and the bodies are really rough. That's just what I have found.

So what areas should I look at on these cars? I've heard rust is common in the engine bay on the inner fenders. I'm sure I should check floor pans and the trunk. Any particular areas on the frame?

None taken. Can you elaborate on why you wouldn't pay $6,000?

Here are some pictures. Do you notice the front grill. It looks like there is a prospector emblem on there?

The title should also indicate that it is one owner, correct?
