Mid 90's, I was a teenager fixing up a '72 Barracuda with my dad for my first car. Bought it from Salt Lake City and the salty winter roads did a number on the bottom of the car. But it was cheap and ran, 318/auto.

It was my understanding that people doing the conversion preferred the slant 6 K-frame as one of the V8's motor mounts was in the way of something on the 5.7. I could be wrong though.
From what I heard they're good engines, just have to keep up on oil changes. I guess the oil system is too easy to clog up or something. Might just be the pickup tube mentioned above.
He's probably talking about letting your foot off the gas and having the engine decelerate the car instead of the brakes. Does a bigger cam change the rate of deceleration from a stock cam.

Any idea if the bumper guards may have been a dealer add on? I've got them on mine but no code on the fender tag. It's also very possible they were added on sometime later by a previous owner. I'd like to get a new front bumper but still on the fence about the guards.
