I know that I'll be in a minority on this point of view... Bore and sleeve them all...the whole f'ing lot of them. I like uniformity...and I like sleeves if they're done right. Of course, if the wall is thin..... A good shop will bore a shoulder at the bottom and mill the excess off at the top...

I believe it to be a "wear pad"...just something to reduce friction. It should have come with that, but you could silicone glue a 1/8" thick piece of Nylon or Delrin there I had bought a couple of these, to replace the one on my "66"...none were like the factory pedal. On mine: the hinge...

Is there any "sound"..... a "chunk" type of noise?? I'm not suer of how this is mounted, but is it possible that a shim is needed. If you loosen the starter...would it engage?? (obviously, just to try something simple)
