That's what someone else told me, the 4 speed and bellhousing in my car came out of a 70 demon. I bought a new one and tossing that one bracket out.

My car is a v8 car originally a 3spd swapped for a 71 4spd. The ball is kinda worn. So I want to get a replacement part just want to make sure that the extra part of the bracket doesn't have an important use.

Took a look at that and looked up the part number the two bolt hoes and the ball locations are the same, though I haven't seen any with the extra part to the right. Is it for the return spring?
