I had TTi coat my set. They looked great right out of the box (and actually still look good today) but on engine break-in I did not adjust the timing soon enough and the heat (it seems) was too much for one header (which blushed the silver coating on a tube or two).
There is a break-in for the...
Reading this has been great. My Swinger had a "floral top" when new, and I thought THAT was rare. Some of these other rides are really low production here.
This thread is great. Such a fantastic bunch of photos of great work.
My photo is from back in the day when I swapped out my 360 for a new seasoned block 408. Eddy port matched heads to an air-gap with a Holley Dom 850, small spray and some TTi big tube long collector headers.
Keep the...
Hey thats great. Now we have engine money and suspension money to spend. Sounds good?
75 lbs? I would be thrilled to get rid of 75lbs off the nose. I even lightened my bumper brackets for the 1 pound loss so...
Just want to say that a aluminum headed 408 is much lighter than the 440, and that makes the car drive better, and faster when you are talking the same power output.
Hell I wanted to put in a vintage Hemi, but packaged mine with a high output 408 for the win.
Just for kicks I want to say that I went with Eddie Performer RPM Magnum heads on my 408 stroker. I had them cleaned up (out of the box) and port matched to my LA airgap intake by Hughes (who also drilled them to take the LA intake). I went with a version of the GM rocker at a Magnum ratio of...
There is an area in IL that has the largest truck driver need in most all of the US. They have billboards up along the road that read "Owner Operators! Make $300k a year with us! We need you today!" Joliet, IL. Also Elwood, IL. Every major warehouse (think Amazon) has a million square foot+...
I ship almost weekly. But I have a story that will trigger you all.
I bought a pair of used racing seats on-line, with agreed-to shipping assistance prior to the sale. However... Guy was a newbee & told me to come get them once I bought them (I am in the middle of the US & he was in NY). I...
I am older (nearly 60). So I have seen a lot of this. Even as far back as high school I recall the types that suddenly have blinders on when they pull up next to you. I had a 1970 GTX 440+6 four speed with 4.10 Dana 60 back then. I could watch the camaro or stang guys pointing and talking about...
Recently a few later seventies version then mine (in excellent condition) sold for around $30k+.

Basic nice rides go for low teens:

I have one of the cars that I had always wanted. 440CI two door and rare. One of 57 Imperial Lebaron Crown coupe Silver Anniversary Edition (1974) in Golden Fawn. Low miles, lovely condition. Runs like a freight train. I will be selling it at some point in the future. It is the Mac Daddy.
Its alright gents. I like what I have, so I will try to optimize before I swap stuff. I will strap it to a chassis dyno & tune on it a bit, then back to the track with all I need for additional tuning. Remember that from the start I said that I was still breaking it in, and did three mild pulls...
Nah I did not put any juice to it with the cast crank. 'Fraid to!
Alright, I think I will start there. Enough of us are thinking "tune" so let me tinker without swapping parts 1st. As far as cold air... That is the car in my profile pic. Hemi hood scoop right to air intake. I think its getting...
