God.... you guys are so negative...??
actually they moved the guide up so less of it would be in the port..
this allows more air to flow and keeps it off the bowl roof
and still ...keeps the guide length to support the valve
we figured this out..when i was considering what heads to put on...
I dont want to be or come accross as arguementative.....
i will say ,,,once the world was thought to be flat.
who knows you may be onto something?
go for it..
not really sure what exactly your wanting to accomplish?
you could just put 2 naca ducts in the hood...will do the same.
but i...
it doesnt...
the top edge of your windshild/roof area to a small degree my have a plow efffect..but its mostly the grille and your front edge of the hood..
the high pressure air in the cowl is air that is circulating (like laying a large roll of paper towel accross your hood/cowl..despensing...
ah...i just re-read this part....OK..i see your point now.
i can use my current cam profile as a base to check for values that are known.
then measure off of this to see if that allows for more clearence ..and where/at what point?
i can configure a profile or new profile ....
thats...
the whole thing that started this. is..
if the heads potential at 266 cfm..(this part confuses me, is it 266 CFM?)
or is it supposed to be 2.66?
anyway..
if i do the math..266cfm head flow should give me 547hp ...pontentially..
i am only seeing 496 hp...sooo.. I think that if i get the...
because the intake valve starts to open as the piston leaves tdc..
if the cam profile opens the valve faster than the piston is pulling away
it will strike the cam..on intake stroke.
on compression stroke the intake valve may stay open after bdc..
its prolly more critical on the exhaust...
arggg...I am not taking the heads off...i am taking the springs off..
I swear..you guys are just like the guys at the track...they tell me to put
a ford engine in it or a chevrolet engine in it... Pa-LEASE?
mel.
i have all the patience i need...the racing season is over for me..
the car is in the garage just setting....\
I know my dad....he is busy running a business and dealing with my brother.
if i wait for them to get around to it....it will be summer and my car will still be setting right where...

I know what claying is...we did it to our.Whaley terminator outlaw engine.
ok a couple of things......
i am not sure...what i read so far...
i cant put a roller cam in this because i have stock length valves..?
and i wont be able to run enough spring pressures.?
what if i dont go .600"...
i am not sure what to say about some comments..:munky2:
i havent read all of them...yet...just reponding to a few.for now.
this is a complete running engine..its still in my duster..
I want to change the cam....Right? already said this....lol
there is no way i can pull the motor...My...
i have to go to bed soon..
can you tell me what i should do....need to do
ill check back after school tomorrow..
thanks
Mel.
edit..
one last thing.i got the lifters already from Doug Herbert..their tech Guy said " i need to know what your piston to valve clearence is?"
and intake air...
its got an 8" 5k from Kenny Ford in ala.
I have a 4.30 in it now...with the 29" tire.
but i have 4.56 if i need it..?
the heads flow to .600" or lets say..they didnt drop off till after that..on
the flow sheet...my uncle ported them..they are ta/X cast iron heads..
