Yes, the stock PS box wont work with the BB. I have the Borgeson box, which is much smaller.

For another reference, this is my clearance for the 383 4speed in mine. It's tight but no issues. I am in the process of pulling the heads. I blew a head gasket.

I would like to know myself. I am looking for a fan shroud for a 1973 340 with AC. Reading online I need shroud 3673921. The part number for 71-72 is different.
