I tried with the SS battery that I had. The only battery that I found was a 500cca battery from O’Reillys. You could use two lithium ion batteries that they used when making that super stock battery……and they are $230 each.
It’s funny. I’m watching an episode of Roadkill garage and the “crop buster” is a 1970 Duster and it definitely has a bowed body line. Funny
It’s very possible that the wheel wells are bowed up a bit but for both sides to be equal…..I’m not sure.
Anyways thanks everyone for your feedback.
For giggles I went to my driver side I laid out the pin striping tape over the body line and again laid yellow tape in the straight line and came up with the same results. The panel has been only sand blasted and a coat of sealing primer over it. No bodywork has been done to it at all. Look, I’m...
Ok, so I just blocked out my passenger quarter panel? My method on doing this is to block up to the body line and then down to the body line. With a light guide coat on the panel and you sand away everything else a line start to appear. Then I take pie striping tape and place it over the body...
I’m starting to think it’s a year thing. Many of the cars showing a curve are 70 and 71s. 72s and up are straight??? I looked at my car this morning for a long time and as I said before it was mostly original paint and I had it sand blasted ( by a guy that mostly chemically strips and then...
I know this is an older post but I’m looking for some help. I’m building a 70 Duster and I’m starting to do the body work. I thought the rear middle body lines were straight BUT both my driver and passenger side has a 1/2” curve between the door and wheel well. After sandblasting the body on...
1968 Super Stock Hemi Dart wheel well cut out Templates.
At last, we finally got these done. I have been asked to do these for several years and now they are complete. I have been following these cars for over thirty years and the question has always come up, “What shape did they use on the...
Many of you know that I built both a Dart and a Barracuda clones. Other than the Barracuda having a siamese bore block, Dana 60 and a four speed. The Dart had a 727, 8 3/4” and a water block…….these two cars were identical in builds. The Barracuda came in 40 lbs different.
Yes, it uses a stock 1968 Hemi pan and pick up.
Fun fact for everyone. These cars almost came with a unique aluminum oil pan with a floating g pickup and trap doors. A very cool item for production 1968 car. Not 100% sure why they did not use it but I’ll bet it had something to do with fitment.
The limiting factors is the inner wheel tub. If you do not push the inner tub to the frame rail you gain nothing.
If you do the 3/4” offset hangers and bang in the inner tub in some spots you can fit a 275.
If you “mini tub” it, custom offset wheels and move the springs inter the frame then a...
With all this being said and everyone “thinking and guessing” put some white grease on the snubber bumper and make a pass. See if it hits the floor and did it make a difference in 60ft times. Simple.
In my opinion the only way a pinion snubber works is it must be adjusted to within 1/4” to 1/2” away from the floor pan. If your front suspension is working properly disregard. The reason why is remember, Mopar leaf spring cars rises in the rear at launch and then settles down. That means the...
