I have a 74 dart with a 3 on tree manual with a tired slant six. I am looking to swap to 318. I have been told that a bell housing from an a833 will bolt right onto my 3 speed manual. I have been told there was only one bellhousing made and it should bolt right on. Is this correct?

so short answer go easy rout and get a 4 on the floor? Im only looking to build up to around 250 hp motor I do have a lot of time though just going to keep cruzin the six till I have all parts in combo..

I have a 74 dart 3 on tree manual with a slant six..I have been told it can bolt directly to a 318 with no problem? is this true or am I hearing stories? How much HP/torque can this trany handle. It is fun to drive dont want to swap it out.
