Cam cores still seems to be a issue.
I am looking for a new hydraulic roller cam (shourt snout) to replace my current Whiplash cam. These are the cams I've been looking at;
Jones 216/220 (264/268) - Part no. HR68340-69340-110, 110LSA and .510" lift - Been out of cam cores for a long time...
Well, it hasn't. :poke:
It needs som work done to the frame, and I've started planning the restoration as well as other changes. I'm considering the Lunati Voodoo 20200710, 211/219 @ .050" and 112 LSA. 3.90 gear ratio is also a part of the plan.
Just bringing this one back from the dead.
Hughes Engines changed the specs on the 318 Whiplash roller camshaft, because the idle was too rough with the 107 LSA.
Both the new blue Proform rocker arms ($349) and Mopar branded rocker arms ($437) are bushed. This is why I compare them to the bushed rocker arms from PRW. It seems like the PRW ones are having a good reputation for use in mild street builds.
So, has anyone tried the Mopar rocker arms made by Proform yet?

It seems like Proform now is offering them under their own brand, at a good price if quality is good.

I have not used the .050" numbers. Hughes doesn't have advertised duration published for their Whiplash cams, but I have used the numbers found here as a guideline; #6---Older Camshaft Profiles (Small Block Hydraulic: HE Series)
Anyways, I should be close to 8:1 DCR with the Jones cam.
So I have actually bought a camshaft from Jones a few months ago, to replace my Hughes Whiplash roller camshaft (208/214) in my 9.6:1 CR 318.
What surprised me, is that he actually recommended me a higher duration camshaft.
I was expecting a lower duration camshaft for my "low" compression...
