I just want to say thanks for the replies/info/advice I got in response to this post. I ended up opening up the gauge and disabling the limiter inside. Installed the new limiter as shown, put it all back to together and everything seems to work. Although the temp gauge is reading lower than it...
I'm replacing the wiring behind the dash of my 65 Dart, and want to upgrade the gauge limiter while it's all apart. I have the external limiter and got directions to open the fuel gauge and disable the internal limiter but my gauge looks riveted closed and trying to get in there seems like a...
I really like this idea better than opening up the gauge, but I have a question if I may. The blue with tracer wire doesn’t show as going to the fuel gauge on my wiring diagram. It shows going to the oil light in dash. A black wire goes to the fuel gauge. Can you please confirm which wire? Thanks
I have a 65 dart and am in the middle of this replacement, too. My big problem right now is opening the fuel gauge. It's riveted shut. For anyone who has done this, how did you open and then seal up the fuel gauge?
I'm looking for the metal strip that attaches to the back seat and secures the front edge of the boot cover. Just got a new roof and boot. Didn't even know what this part was until a few days ago. Anyone have one for sale?
Thanks.
Richard
Yes, showing 11.6 at blue wire with key "in run" position.
Yes, spark from green terminal.
Connected clip wire from other field terminal to ground. Ran engine. Battery voltage at 13.9 at idle. Rose to over 17 V as bringing up RPM.
The battery was dead. Won't crank at all. I took it to the local Autozone for charging and testing. Took them a few hours to charge. Test showed it was fine. This is the second time this sequence of events has taken place. After the first time, when I had the battery charged, the car ran fine...
I converted to electronic ignition and replaced the forward wiring harness in my 1965 Dart as well as all main components. Now it doesn't seem to be charging. Runs fine for a while then loses power and dies with dead battery. Replaced VR, but still happening. I'm thinking maybe a grounding...
Hi, moparbob,
Thanks for your reply. I've been away on vacation and just returned today. Can you tell me if you still have the timing tab I'm looking for?
Thanks.
Richard
I have a 1965 Dart 270 convertible, and I'm missing pieces of the chrome trim that goes around the base of the roof along the trunk and rear side windows. What I'm looking for are the two corner pieces that join the rear piece with the side piece, and the two side pieces that terminate the trim...
