That should be a decent cam. I'd steer clear of the MP .528 because too many of them have had lobes wiped out with very low miles on them. Of course you probably already know all that! Oregon will do a regrind for @ $80 and they are great to work with. Hope you get this Colt screaming in the...

    1972 Dodge Colt

The valve cover bolt on the intake side of the head lines up between the number one intake and exhaust valve. Probably into the wall between the two runners if I guess. However if the head was cracked there-(Into the exhaust or intake port) I don't see how that is going to change a simple...

    1972 Dodge Colt

Stan, I would definitely install a stock set of rockers and check it before removing the head. Then you will know if it is the rockers touching something when you draw it down, or if it is actually something to do with the bolts. ( which I can't imagine) You could clean everything well and put...

Stan, you have compression now, but you didn't earlier? I can't think of many things that are going to go away and fix themselves. I am still guessing a guide issue is holding a valve open. That could also explain if a pushrod came out. Maybe once it gets warmed up again it will reveal itself...

    Slant six racing

I'm the race coordinator for the race at Mason Dixon. A great time is always had by everyone no matter how fast or slow you go. We have everything from 22 sec. floaters to no less than the world's fastest slant 6 car. (Will Burn's Cuda) we usually have 13-17 Slant 6 cars and I already have some...

New best slant six 1/4 mile

Let's just say Will does not want to toot his own horn, so allow me. Will had some shirts to give to the track owner and announcer after he made his 9.62 run. The announcer, Mike Bassin, told us that that with a 120 MPH 1/8th mile time, he would likely have been over 150 in the 1/4. This car...

I help organize the Slant 6 race that weekend at Mason Dixon. Pass the word around and come out and race with us. I am expecting some low 11 second cars there this year and we should have a great time. Slant 6 racing on Saturday and Sunday. Last years payout was over $1600 for the 2 days. Not to...
