I found an old thread. He used a "Wix wheel" to cut the cam. I dunno what a Wix wheel is. But I imagine a cut off wheel would do the trick. I might try it. What did you use? And you cut them on a 45* angle instead of just straight across?
What's the best/easiest way to Hone the bearings? I was thinking maybe Emory cloth by hand. But my hands are too big to reach inside the bearings from the bottom.
That's pretty much exactly what I was told, but neither the machine shop or my uncle who has built a bunch of big blocks seemed to want to hone the bearings. My uncle was helping me and he says they use the old cam so they can hit it with a brass punch and hammer on both sides of each journal...
They are already installed. But the cam won't turn by hand. Just got block back from machine shop. He was too busy to install the bearings. So I picked it up and did it myself. I really wish he would've installed them.
hi guys, I'm building my first big block. this is only the second time ive ever installed cam bearings. I used the proper tool and seen it done many times. however this is my first big block. I was told to use the old cam to "square" the bearings because big block mopars are notorious for...
I'm doing efi with tank and pump from tanksinc.com. I'll be using a corvette filter/regulator combo. Question is: where should I mount the filter? Close to the engine like a corvette? I'm assuming they do this to limit pressure drop to the fuel rail. Or do I mount it near the tank? Would/could...
ok im diving into the wiring and I thought I had a harness from a 96 I was wrong. I found the part number of the harness and ecm and called guy I know at dodge dealer. they are both from a 2000 Durango. however im missing the grey connector on the ecm. the grey connector and fuse box are both...
I figured out the belt. I took of the idler pulley and using the truck non ac belt it fits. I started looking at the wiring and apparently I'm missing C3 on the ecm and I have the wrong fuse box. Now I'm scratching my head as to what to do. I don't hang to spend $900 on a hot wire harness...
I grabbed a van ps bracket at the bone yard. Now I can't find a belt. I figured a van belt without account would work but it's too short. So maybe 1 of the truck pillegal is a different diameter. Looks like I'll be making a few trips to the auto parts. Then I have to address the ps pressure...
Thanks That's good to know. What is eveyone doing for power steering. I'm using the Magnum accesories and the pump and bracket are hitting the battery tray.
It's been awhile but we are finally making some progress. I was looking at the wire harness and we are having issues with dad's dakota, the engine shuts off when the oil pressure gauge drops. So I was wondering does the ECM get a signal from oil pressure switch. If it does I need to "t" it for...
BRAD PENN hands down worth every penny, no additive needed. the additive you buy doesn't mix with the oil in my experience. Valvoline VR1 racing oil is next best.
does anyone know where I could get a good stock oil pan for a 360 car. im doing a magnum swap and I prefer a new one and don't want to break the bank. Ive read that the summit racing ones don't fit good. thanks
