Whats the best time for a factory stock duster 1/4 miles ??

Shark tooth was not standard either year on 340s unless it was a twister. We both ordered our cars from the dealer and I think I had to pay $30ish more for the ST grill. Your probably correct about the power steering as he had it dealer installed after delivery.

Hence the thousands of 360s,318s stroked or not with the 340 stripes and badges. Will always wish you had an original real deal.

Whats the best time for a factory stock duster 1/4 miles ??

Please don't believe the 1972 hype that they got any slower. They had to lie about a lot back then. My farther bought a 71 340 4 speed with 3:55s He did have A/C, power steering/ brakes. Follow year I purchased a 72 340 3 speed standard with 3:91s I ordered it without any options other than...

    360 or 340?

That's just wrong and pipe dreaming because someone couldn't get what they wanted. The 360s didn't SCREAM like the 340s from the factory at all. They were a low rev with a decent torque truck style engine. The little red express engines where different because they didn't have to conform to same...

Which one was quickest in 1972

I say with confidence. My dad's early 72 340 duster 3 speed manual transmission, which he ordered for light to light street racing and basically 0 options other than 3:91 gears would be the quickest. As it easily ran high 13s pushing it hard to easy 14.1's consistently.
