I can't wait to see what you post next! As far as the carbs, what date is on them? I can't tell from that picture. I have two sets, one E2 (May '62) and the set I posted the picture of H2 (Aug '62) and both are 3447S. Lots to learn about these old war horses and it's great to see parts...

And here is a very early '63 426 MW block that I own. The first 426 MW was built on 8-26-62, this one is 9-1-62. The day/month/engine built style stamping started in December, '62.

And here is a 1964 11-1 low comp MW 426 blockpad in this case: 426 = displacement V= 1964 MP= max perf 12-December 10= 10th day 08 =8th engine assembled that day

Didn't work like that, but many people think that makes sense, because it sounds good. The Stage 2 engine was not released until June '63, so where does that leave all of the earlier built '63 MW cars (August '62-May '63)? The stage 2 426 had some very minor improvements over the early 426...

That 3447 SA is a service replacement, otherwise, what a super nice 11.1 maxie engine! Having the original oilpan is very rare!

Correct, the '62 was just the Super Stock and Ramcharger race package. The early 426 MW was just that, no stage reference yet until June when the Stage 2 pkg was announced, therefore, most folks call the pre-June, '63 MW cars as being Stage 1 equipped. The '63 Stage 3 intake is visually...
