I have a 1978 d100 im working on. Finally got around to pulling the slant 6 and 727. I have a 1979 360 that I honed and added new rod bearings and rings. This is the first engine ive had tore down this far and re assembled. I got the 360 in the truck and started to prime the oil before...

All three are 3.23, if I can get a little more life out of this sure grip then ill use it. I paid $5 for it so im not losing a whole lot. The 360 thats going in the truck is not gonna stay in it. So id more then likely rebuild one of the other casings, with a clutch style sure grip and the...
Is there one thats better to choose from? Or easier to setup/find parts for? I have all three 741 742 and the 489. The 742 is complete and looks to be in the best shape out of the three.

Im hoping I can get away with doing just that. I have some aluminum heads intake and a new cam. Not a good set up with the stock bottom end. But I do plan taking the 1973 360 in the truck now to the machine shop and building it too better accommodate my setup.
