Welp, this is still driving me crazy. I'm gonna try putting a strip of rubber in between the caliper and the retainer clip. Not pleasant to drive at all right now....will report back.
Thanks for all the welcomes!
Mopar king, you live on Staten Island? Yup, its my daily driver. Are you the guy with the brown with the white top? I get all my parts at Artie's, say hi if you see me around!
Adjusting the pad helped, but the diagram in the link I posted above did the trick. They call the rubber band an "o ring", it gets placed around the groove that the caliper fits into!
I'm about to try this....this thread is years old, but has a good picture. Will report back, checkit.

Having the EXACT same problem, except mine rattles whenever I hit a bump. I have also adjusted the pad, but I'm not sure I'm using the rubber band the right way. If someone could post a picture, that'd be awesome!
Hey everybody! Sam Schiff here. I'm 19 years old, live in Staten Island, NY, and I drive a 76' Dodge Dart with a /6. Been hanging around moparforums.com (also a great site) for a while, now looking forward to talking / learning about A-bodies!
