want to go with the domed pistons and cam to make it a H.P. and any other small upgrades to get a little more horses out of it.

Heres the update. installed the carb - quick fuel slayer 600 vac 2nds - a few minor adjustments were needed out the box ( float levels way too high & mixture screws ) took it out for a test and and instantly had 90% less knocking.
stopped and filled up with 93 - while at the gas station...
after way too much thought i decided to order a quick fuel slayer 600 carb (P/N 793-SL-600-VS ) its arriving tomorrow and ill let you all know how it goes after the install. i really appreciate all the advice, opinions & help from everyone.

So having no luck with a replacement bottom plate. Looking for suggestions on a replacement carb. Found a rebuilt thermoquad 850 cfm locally but on the fence if I should just get something new. Opinions?
Updates. Found the carb base plate is cracked. So I’m in search for a good replacement. I did do a compression test. Highest cylinder reading 180 lowest 165. The plugs I just put in 30 miles ago look like this. Guess I’ll continue the work after either I find a replacement base plate or a carb...
