He only tried adjusting linkage and told me it probably needed a new shift kit! $$. Going to take it to a different guy that's more knowledgeable and honest! Thanks for all the info everyone.

it shifted great, then I had to change the cam (bad cam lobe) and after that is when the shift problem started. Had a shop do the work. Tranny shop tried adjusting but nothing changed

Unknown, was in car when bought it

727 tranny with shift kit/440 engine, at full throttle won't shift to 3rd unless I back off on throttle, adjustments don't change anything
