New Trick Flow Big Block Mopar Head

Some of you may have seen this already. I just saw it. Thought I'd post it for those who haven't.

For those curious. My bill for my short block.

I had a shortblock assembled at Hughes Engines about 20 years ago. I supplied the block, crank and rods. They did their race prep machine work and supplied the remaining parts. The bill, $3800

BORE SHROUDING TEST: 4.03" vs 3.91" Edelbrock RPM Heads Really Fit a 318? Project Mission Impossible

I've seen, read where some Poly, LA 318's can go to 4.00" bore size and still have adequate cylinder wall thickness. There's a racer, maybe here on this forum with a grey 67-69 Cuda with a 318 block that, according to him, went 4.00". No, I haven't personally done it but I'd check the block...

    Air Gap hood clearance

I run an air gap on my small block '71 Duster with a 1" spacer, average 2" air filter/cleaner & it clears the stock hood.

    Race Engine Challenge--North Carolina, April 17-18 2026

225cc Eddy Victor heads, Super Victor intake, 1050, appropriate roller cam if I had the coin to spend. The short block you laid out is exactly what I plan for my 414. Good luck!

    Small block hood clearance

Although my car is a Duster I have an air gap intake, originally holley dp, but FiTech efi now, at least a 1" spacer with factory '69 air cleaner and it all clears the factory hood. Hope this helps.

    Connecting Rod Question

I guess I had a brain fart. The more I rack my brain around it, a 4.00" stroke is easier. The Molnar cranks I've looked at though, the price is the same so I figured why not go bigger.

    Connecting Rod Question

That's what I was thinking too.

    Connecting Rod Question

I have a standard size set of bushed connecting rods with 2.125 small end diameter. I'm considering a forged 4.125 stroke crank with 2.00 small end. Can the bushing be removed & "resized" down to 2.00? Or should I just buy chevy rods?

    Mancini Manual Steering Gear

Post a follow up when it's installed. I'm considering that box. I have the Flaming River 16:1 box & it's a ***** to turn at low speeds. I'm getting older and want to enjoy my car.

    Lower Idler Arm?

MRE - Dropped Centerlink - 1973-76 A Body My Earls oil pan is contacting the center link. Thinking about trying this one from Mancini. My car is a '71 but I'm using a '73 K member. Will these work on earlier cars?

    Short deck deck intake?

On some Mopar race blocks, the distance from the centerline of the crankshaft to the cylinder head deck surface is 9.6 inches and the "short deck" is 9.2 inches. Hope that's clear.
