So re-sealed the 440 source retainer it was still leaking. Removed that junk... found a used up pos 400 retainer cleaned it up put it in no leaks. Yay!
I am using the 440 source billet main seal too... Just fired my fresh build this weekend and sure enough it is a leakin.. I haven't dropped the trans yet to investigate. Going together it appeared like it was going to seal and be great, so I can't put the blame there yet. It is my suspicion...

Not saying it is the same in every case or engine block, but I put studs in my block and did not have to hone it. Torqued caps down and slid a go no/go bar in through the saddles. Went in just fine no distortion noted....
Thank you for all the insight. I appreciate all the comments. I will definately go with the double keyed crank. I have a hub as well. I was going to use that as long as I could get the rotating assmebly balanced internally. If it has a cast crank (late 70s) that may be a problem getting it...
