A833 NP A body trans ID help & intro.

Been missing for a while due to getting hit by a semi rolling about 90 on i10 interstate in Arizona 3 years ago. Concussion, neck injury, and reconstructive surgery to arm and shoulder. Lots of painful physical therapy but happy to get to 85%. While taking my 833 apart I discovered that someone...

    5.9/ #53020006 360 siamesed?

Just picked up a #53020006 360 shortblock to use as a 408 build. It appears to be the transitional 92' and has the LA type oiling and to the heads and is a roller/spider. Question is; are the cylinders siamesed???

Who made Mopar Performance Hydraulic Roller Lifters P5249862 for Mopar Perf?

So, I've not been successful finding "Who made Mopar Performance Hydraulic Roller Lifters P5249862 for Mopar Perf?" Pretty sure MP did not make these. I'm looking to build a 1990' 360 LA roller block 408" with hydraulic roller cam/lifters. Want to retain factory Spider and Dog-bone guides...

    6.4 hemi rocker arm material?

I'm considering a 6.4 hemi swap into my 73 Twister Duster manual trans. While reseaching the 6.4 some said if I change cam, lifters and heavier springs I may have stock rocker problems. So, what are the stock rockers made out of? My internet searches were nada...

    73 Duster Twister Guy

Thanks guys! I definitely will be looking for a 742 or 489 case, and A body rear end housing. Sure Grip is an absolute! More pics in a few weeks. I built a new shop on my property and have to get it wired, so will get some car pics when finished. Boy have the prices gone crazy since I did my...

    73 Duster Twister Guy

Yep, I was looking for a 73' Twister for a long time and this one popped up. I wanted the 4.5" bolt pattern with better spindles and bigger bearings plus much better wheel selection. Roger that on the scoops. I'l keep the rubber bumper blocks but they'l be on my shelf instead! Interesting that...

A833 NP A body trans ID help & intro.

Well now, I don't have direct contact with the 68' dart owner so info is limited from the guy I got the trans from. Car was side-lined for some reason, and parted out. Original owner was not to talkative. These cars had 5/50 warranty back then, so i assume the trans was replaced during warranty...

A833 NP A body trans ID help & intro.

Thanks Rob, Yep, just like the pic I posted....nada, no #'s. But now I know it came out of a 1968 Dart GTS-340. Quick visual is that it feels and looks good except shifting forks. Very small amount of metal in the bottom, extremely fine, like metalic paint fine. The paint on this I believe is...

A833 NP A body trans ID help & intro.

Boy did I get lucky! The guy I got my trans from chased down the original owner. It came out of a 1968 Dodge Dart GTS-340. So, any guys around here that can give me info on why the id pad is unmarked??? Thanks for the 318 info, but it's getting pulled and preserved. It's the original and only...

A833 NP A body trans ID help & intro.

OK, I do not have a 4 speed OD box, It's a normal box and am curious around what year it is. There is so much more info available now, then my last project 20 years ago. In my day, most 4 speed trans had numbers stamped on the id pad. Nothing on mine. Guy I got it from didn't know its origin...

A833 NP A body trans ID help & intro.

Well I wont feel it for long. I will be pulling the 318 & 3 speed trans and preserving it, as the Twister is all original, interior and Paint. In a couple months I'll be looking for a 360 71'-72' with the thicker cylinder walls. Will either build it strong or go with a 408 stroker kit. Gonna...
