    Header Options for 440 a-body

You'll need 2" at least for that kind of power level!

Show Your Big Block A body!

A factory 4 speed car we made a racer out of it. Ran high 12's on an 80,000 mile stock motor with only headers and a 4.10 Gear. Eventually swapped in 440 and 727 for brackets and ran pretty easy 10.70s [/IMG] [/IMG]

    440 cam choice?

We did one of those a few years back with a very similar RV cam, a performer intake and a 600 Carter AVS. Also added some headers from a pickup I think, but the dual exhaust really woke the big motor up! Stay with the smallest primaries you can fimd (probably 1 3'4" or so). That will help the...

BIG blocks and 8 3/4 dont go, lol

Folks, let's not forget that most of those SS/DA and SS/EA Hemi "E" bodies all came with and most ran the 8 3/4 rear. Also the SS/FA and SS/GA 440 cars! Those guys were in the high 9's and low 10's 20 years ago! Back in the late 70's Jim Kinnett made a 12 bolt live in his SS/AA Barracuda for...

Newbie needing info -- 440/4spd into 71 Demon?

Fear not! The 8 3/4 will do fine in all but the most radical street rides! Ran one in my '69 383 'Cuda D/S car with 8" slicks for YEARS and couldn't break it! Lord only knows I tried! Hooker fenderwell headrs (used to be # 5206) will work with the 4 speed, bur it means cutting your fenderwelss...

    Rarest A-Body Option?

I'd say the 1969 440 Magnum would be near the top of the list!

    harley davidson jets

Drag pipes sound GREAT! Put 2 into 1 exhaust will give a great sound and MORE power! Believe it! Here are mine and I've run ALL the pipes there are (almost) and these do it all! [/IMG]

    Fenderwell's, or under chassi

I've had both and there is no comparison for ease of maintenance with fenderwells. I understand folks liking the "clean" look, but I like the "gasser" look of the fenderwell headers. Had 'em on several cars, but you just GOTTA have 'em on A body big blocks! Joe
