Thanks guys, Got new 3:73s and hope that will cure my problems. There are no new 3:91s for my case.

Not trying to get away cheap, (chignikred), just trying to find the same ratio new. But now I see why most go with Ford or Chevy. I will get a different ratio new from Motive Gear.

Still looking for the 3:91 ring & pinion set for the 741 case

Not sure what I'm going to do until I get the 741 back in and test drive to see if the whine is gone, it is driving me nuts. This is just a street driver with a modified 360 so not too concerned about breaking anything. Thanks,

Wow, now I am confused. You are saying that I can take a pinion / ring gear set for a 742 case and put it in a 741? The spool must be different, and what about the sure grip packs?

Changing to a 742 from a 741 does that change the drive shaft length?
