They have GM bellhousings, special input shafts, & special output shafts. Basically its modded to use the GM bellhousings, and be the same length and mounting points as a TH350.
So in short, unless you are running a chevy engine, don't even try. The internals like the synchro hubs would be interchangeable though. Most people i've seen call them the NP833
