360/380hp crate motor
Those Crate motors were great,just like Mopar do something good inexpensive then
do away with it.
This happens because of 2 reasons.
1. No one is purchasing them.
2. MP parts makes use of what is being produced for stock vehicles. In the future, the "LA"/Magnum engines will be totaly phased out and only the HEMI will be pushed. The only thing that will save the "LA"/Magnum engines from totaly going away is customer demand. If there still used in raceing/street performance cars, they (MP) will continue to make them.
For a long while, big block parts were getting harder to find through MP. I'm just glad they found the 440 tooling and made new blocks and such. The revival of the big block from MoPar guys on the streets brought it back. Otherwise, the tooling would have remained in a box, gone forever.
Notice how the small block section is having a lack of heads available for purchase?
I was looking try to find a pric and the closest I found was a 360/390hp crate motor. If it is the same price as the 380hp version then you could build an equal or better for cheaper. How much is the 380hp version?
That engine is a little bit more money due to the aluminum heads. Current prices are a unknown to me.
