Can you use the linelock to take the slack out of the drivetrain on the line? Thinking to reduce the shock on takeoff. Does that make sense? I guess mounting it to the steering wheel temporarily would be best as I would only use it at the track. thoughts? thx, kevin

I wouln't think that's going to do anything unless you're hazing the clutch on the line, which is probably a real bad idea.

Are you using a two step?

Some tracks don't like it but, back when I had my car I had two line locks on the car. Had one on the fronk brakes, and one on the rear. I had the switch for the rear on the clutch pedal. That way I could hold the car and take some slack out.

Way back in the day before automatics became the norm for drag racing guys running a stick would rig up a hand lever on the brake pedal to keep from rolling before launching. Its kind of an antiquated way to do it but it would work.

If clutch is engaged, thus putting power to the output shaft to take slack out, you're putting heat in the clutch while you're on the line. BEST case is premature wear. Worst case is pieces of pressure plate flying through your tender vittles at half track.
