I believe the same car that's been on e-bay and wants 30K..if so...not that nice to Me
 
It's been on ebay before and got up to about $24,000 but I'm surprised that nobody has noticed that it's not a Formula S and that it's really a Barracuda with the 340 option.

There is no code on the fender tag for the Formula S option. Howeve E55 is 340 and the 5'th digit in the VIN is a P which means 340. In '69 a 340 could be ordered on any Barracuda. And when that was ordered all the ones I have seen have the chrome exhaust tips and 340-S emblems on the fender.
 
Nice beautiful car, but the fendertag has to have A53 for formula s. It is a 340 car though, but an "S" clone. Wonder where he got the "new" tail panel, I havent seen any of these repopped. From what I have been told, you could either have the stripe, OR the 340-s fender badges. Dash pad stands out too much, as well the hinge covers should be white...no need for them to stand out too! But spectacular looking. Oh by the way, is it just me, or with the wording at the end about selling to the highest bidder...I didnt see that he would sell to the highest bidder for whatever the price is, I read it as the highest bidder will get a crack at buying it at reserve price???
 
Beautifully taken care of. Boy does that interior "pop" and the inside of the doors are also very nice. Very nice car.

Something smells fishy about this car........Can anyone tell me what a "heavy duty" transmission is?? I don't think i've ever seen one. Also, anyone notice the flat black paint below the doors, from behind the front wheel opening all the way past the rear wheel opening?? Up here back in the 70's and 80's, the "shady dealers" around here would paint that area of the car to hide the bad bondo jobs that they did. Another thing, and I could be way wrong, but I don't recall ever seeing that type of manual outside mirrior like the one in the pics, on a Barracuda before. The gage cluster looks like it was spray painted silver, dash pad looks like it was done by amatures. IMHO, the car isn't worth the current bid of 16k+. I wouldn't buy it with out seeing it in person and doing the home work on this one.

that dash looks like a 68 with the knob radio,150 speedo and tach. Is the black grill and tailplate accents for 340-s real, because mine is one owner and does not have that.they are making a repop of the tailplate around $800.
 
68-9 dashes are the same,(thumbwheel radio) tach is correct, the radio is aftermarket in this though. The trunk trim for an "S" is black, the front "eggcrates" are also black, and the plastic ovals are moulded black, then painted silver. All in all it is a very nice car that has been done to a clone, maybe not with everything correct, but with some nice pieces. No shots of the underside though?????
 
This is the first '69 fastback I have seen that is a real 340 car but not a Formula S and not a Cuda. Would be cool to put the standard rear trim panel back on it along with argent grills to show off its rareness.

Yes some things are incorrect like white dash pad, hacked up dash bezel, incorrect shift handle etc but if that body is as good as it looks that car is worth a couple bucks.
 
just to clarify, when I got my 340-s convert it was a one owner and had the 340-s fender tags and formula S button on the trunk plate but the plate was silver, still is, and the grill is all silver. This car was bought new in Vancouver B.C. Should I be repainting these black or silver? is this a Canadian thing?
 
that's 340-S fender badges not" tags". I misplaced my fender tag,smart of me to put it in a safe place where no one , even me could find it.
 
Up to $25K now. Even if it's not "perfect" someone put mucho $$$ and time into that thing. Looks very nice.

All I can say is the seller lee and his wife Renna have a knack for finding some of the sweetest Mopars around go to ebag and look at some of his other low mileage cars he has a 440 GTX that a guy might kill for LOL
